StemChef is a philosophy of teaching science through cooking to young kids. StemChef is geared towards educating children to gain scientific literacy - with a focus on getting more girls interested in STEM. We need more diversity and inclusion in STEM fields in the world. We need more disruptive education styles to inspire and celebrate kids to lead them to a place of self-respect, self-confidence, and equality. Our mission is to open up the world of creative thinking, acute analysis, and unquenchable curiosity to kids who are our future generation.
Scientific thinking is more than just knowledge and facts of the "sciences". It is a way of life that breaks the shackles of confined thinking and allows children to discover their potential to cause a positive change in the world - be it curing the world of cancer or excessive global warming. StemChef lays out scientific concepts as bite sized culinary challenges for kids to solve using food and recipes as their tools.

CEO and Founder
Dr. Ashie Bhandiwad is an entrepreneur, scientist, and educator. She is a strong advocate for food-based STEM education for young children. Ashie founded StemChef on this principle to keep STEM interest kindled and alive in children to inspire the next generation. Happily, she also tackles the female “pipeline” issue that is blamed for the under-represented female gender in STEM careers. Before that, she had dedicated a decade of her life working on renewable energy to combat climate change. Her papers have been published in top scientific journals. Now Ashie is out to inspire the teeny tots to take on global issues of their generation. Ashie holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Dartmouth College.
